]]> Many people heard about the region of Abruzzo for the first time about a year ago because of the earthquake that showed much of Aquila in ruins.  However,  much of the region hardly felt any movement, which was the case near us.  We never noticed the earthquake and the area has no buildings in ruins or any damage.

Aquila is the capital city of Abruzzo and the Province of L’Aquila and is about 63 miles to the north east of Rome.  It is a lively collage town with elegant piazzas, symphony orchestra, fine arts academy and some wonderful streets to explore.
